Bukchon Hanok Village & Gyeongbokgung Palace Photography in Seoul

Ann from Singapore contacted me for a travel & hanbok photoshoot on her arrival in Seoul. She asked for some location suggestions with traditional look of Seoul, history of Korea, and also some nature colors as the autumn season was approaching. I showed her a recent shoot with autumn colors at the palace, so Ann decided to go with the Bukchon hanok village and the Gyeongbokgung palace photoshoots :)

Yes, we did two shoots in a day! ^^ We started with the Bukchon hanok village shoot first and then the palace shoot. Ann rented a hanbok from a nearby rental shop which she found on internet. Since I have done various shoots at these two locations, I have a better idea of the photo-worthy spots. It saves us a lot of time and we can quickly get various shots ~ ^^

I drove Ann in my car from the top of the hanok village and dropped her where there were many rental shops, so she could choose a hanbok of her choice and get her hair done, etc. I went to the palace's parking and parked my car meanwhile. There was a thunderstorm forecast that day and it was showering on and off. Since, Ann came from Singapore, this season was a bit unpredictable for her. However, I assured her that it's okay to do a shoot in rain and it will result in some amazing and memorable pictures ^^

Luckily, the rain stopped while we were doing the shoot. We also got some traditional look of the palace and nature shots...

I definitely recommend everyone coming to Korea to visit to these two locations and wearing hanbok to experience Korean culture and history while also enjoying autumn colors if you are visiting in Fall season (October - November). Please also note that Bukchon Hanok Village is closed on Sundays and Gyeongbokgung Palace is closed on Tuesdays.

Also, if you are wearing a hanbok, there is no entrance fee at the palace. For hanbok rentals, you can visit any shop nearby the palace and get yourself dressed up. The shop lady would also help you with the hair, accessories, purse, shoes, hair pins, etc. :) For your travel and hanbok photoshoot, you can send me a message via Contact tab. I will respond within 24 hours.
